Public charging of electric vehicles in the Baltic states
The Elektrum Drive electric vehicle charging network is available in major Baltic cities – Riga, Ventspils, Liepāja, Valmiera, Cēsis, Daugavpils, Rēzekne, Vilnius, Klaipėda, Palanga, Kaunas, Druskininkai, Šiauliai, Tallinn, Tartu, Palanga, Kuressaare and others. The Elektrum Drive electric vehicle charging network has more than 1000 charging ports across the Baltic states.
We are developing the charging network ourselves and in collaboration with our partners, as well as with the use of funding attracted from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), within the framework of which we are installing additional charging stations with 150–350 kW of charging capacity.

What are the most important things to know about charging an electric vehicle?
The number of electric cars and charging stations is rapidly increasing. As the cold season approaches, energy consumption rises, while the distance traveled decreases.
As part of the largest high-capacity charging network in the Baltic states, Elektrum Drive will build a total of 216 charging points at 55 stations on the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T network) by 2026 with the support of EUR 5 500 000 from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF).
Charging stations are typically classified based on the type of current they provide—alternating current (AC) or direct current (DC). Charging speed, in turn, is primarily determined by the power available at the station for charging an electric car's battery. However, the charging duration depends not only on the station's power but also on the battery capacity and other factors.
